Waking up to a 2-hour delay...welcome January! Though it may seem relatively quiet to you, there is lots of work being done behind the scenes here at the middle school. We have a General PTO Board meeting tomorrow at 9:00, please join us there to hear all about the happenings. Lois Pernice and Meghan Skelton will be joining us to talk about the WPS Family University as well as the upcoming 2012 Special Olympics and Dr. Craw will be sharing his 21st Century vision of the middle school library space.

►BOE UPDATE-BUDGET SEASON 2012
Budget Season is upon us and there are four key meetings scheduled in January. The first three are the budget workshops was held on January 18, 24, and 26 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the Town Library. The Board Of Education will review the entire budget package at it’s regular meeting on January 30th at 7:30 pm, also in the Town Library. All meetings will be televised.

►BUDGET UPDATE
The initial phase of the budget process begins this week with a series of evening presentations to the Board of Education with the first workshop on Wednesday, January 18th in the town meeting room. I will present the budget for the middle school at the second workshop, along with the other school principals, on Tuesday, January 24th in the town library. The third budget workshop is scheduled for Thursday, January 26th, also in the town library. All meetings begin at 7 PM and will be televised on Channel 78.

►INTERSTELLAR ELEVATORS-HELP VOTE (TEXT) DURING LIVE STREAMING PERFORMANCE SATURDAY NIGHT
The Interstellar Elevators, including 5 WHS seniors (Billy Richling, Campbell McClintock, Jake Strauss, Vincent Simboli & Stefan Rehr), will be competing in the finals of the National SchoolJam USA competition on Saturday night in Anaheim, CA. The winner will be named "Best Teen Band in the USA."
You will be able to view the SchoolJam finals online on Saturday night, Jan. 21st, starting at 8 PM and finish at about 11:30 PM Eastern Time. The finals will be aired live on www.schooljamusa.com, so that family or friends who are not able to make it to the event they can watch from home.

Forest Lake Camp will be hosting an afternoon gathering for prospective

FLC is a traditional overnight summer camp for boys and girls located just north of Lake George, in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York.
